"DELICADOS is a noise, improvisation and experimental music project by Daniel Goldaracena, Hernan Hecht and Andrés Solis born in 2006. It was done during a series of recording sessions made in a "cuasiambulant psico-funky" studio, installed for a few months under the shades of an abandoned house at San Jerónimo, a neighborhood in Mexico City. In this proposal lies a mixture of electric and acoustic instruments in combination with everyday objects like ashtrays, coins, adhesive tape or hammers, merged through rough analog recording techniques, in an age where computers have degrade the true and almost lost craft of the original audio recording arts." [Daniel Goldaracena]

"Daniel Goldaracena: Electric and acoustic guitars, pedal effects, ashtrays, coins, adhesive tapes, gaffers, waffles and bafles.
Hernán Hetch: Drums, percussions, SuperCollider programming, lap-top, toys, fruits, vegetables and one apple on every Wednesday.
Andrés Solis: Piano, prepared piano, accordion, MAX-MSP programming, lap-top, popp-tarts, pot-pie, prepared pear pie and more..."

Recorded at San Jerónimo, Mexico City 2005. Sound engineer: Daniel Goldaracena. Mastered by Nathan James , NYC.
Special Credits: Melesio, his dogs, el Abuelo.

PLANETA KENNEL video piece is part of Daniel Landau´s "Grid City" project - a unique mixed media platform, fusing installation art, character animation, documentary film and live action.

Created for DAM´s "Altenative Sessions" project, the piece has had numerous presentations in Europe and the Americas, premiered at the RADAR festival as part of Mexico City´s "Festival de México en el Centro Histórico" [April, 2003].

PLANETA KENNEL reveals its sordid nature through the conjunction of surveillance footage and designed realities, exposing iconic figures in a post-realistic behavioural endeavour. A place where desire and fear collide into poetic encounters in the peripheries of a hyper-futuristic dystopia. You can watch the video in the video section of this site.

BIO

Andres Solis [MEXICO CITY, 1971] is a composer and sound artist. His work has focused on exploring free musical forms that intend to dilute the rigid constraints imposed by traditional musical structures. He has sought to assimilate his environment to find his own language through computer assisted composition, improvisation and interdisciplinary artistic collaborations.

A special attraction for the performing and cinematic arts has led him to collaborate on dif- ferent projects of theatre, dance, video art, sound design and film music. He has also worked with prepared turntables and modified acoustic instruments in combination with analogue and digital processing tools. His work has been performed in Europe, U.S.A., India and México.

His academic training starts in 1989 in Mexico City at the C.I.E.M. (Musical Studies and Re- search Centre). Then he moved to Holland to continue at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where he studied with Clarence Barlow. Later, in Paris, with the support of a grant from the French Government he concludes a postgraduate degree (D.E.A.) under the supervision of Horacio Vag- gione in the department of Sciences of Performing Arts in Paris 8 University, Saint-Denis. He was co-director of the experimental music festivals AURAL and RADAR in Mexico City. In 2012 he en- ters the National System of Art Creators of FONCA, México.

Currently he is a fellow in residence at the Montalvo Arts Centre in California. He was recently commissioned by the Montalvo Arts Center and the Santa Clara University, to compose and stage a requiem for choir, organ, live electronics and dance in memory of the 43 disappeared students in Ayotzinapa and the victims of violence in Mexico. This work was premiered in January 15, 2016 at the Mission Santa Clara de Asis, California, U.S.A. Along with colombian choreographer Sandra Milena Gómez, he co-founds “UDÂNA Plataforma de Creación Escénica”, a collective platform intended to research and promote works in the fields of performing arts such as dance, theatre, music and performance.
